Staff Fighting Tutorial
Staff is not a safe or effective weapon in a line fight, the movements of the non-attacking end are far too likely to inconvenience your own side, usually at about head height. As a weapon outside of a line fight it has the advan

By Purchasing this power, you will gain access to the following powers: Form of the Body, Form of the Mind and Form of the Soul. Each of these toggle powers will allow the user to build up levels of Perfection, which grant the user a stacking short duration buff. Each buff is unique to the active form, and only one form can be active at a time. Perfection can be released by executing Eye of the Storm or Sky Splitter. When either of these attacks are empowered with Perfection they will have additional effects that are unique to each form. See Forms for additional details.
A signature Stalker attack. This attack does superior smashing damage on its own as a frontal attack and cannot be interrupted. However, if it is executed while you are Hidden, this attack will do tremendous damage, as you waylay your unsuspecting foe. This attack may be interrupted if you move or are attacked while executing this power and are hidden. Using this power while not hidden has a chance to critically hit equal to 33.3% times the number of stacks of Assassin's Focus. This power grants one stack of Perfection of Body. Using Assassin's Staff when not hidden will remove all stacks of Assassin's Focus regardless if you critically hit or not.
The Staff has the same 7 slashing targets as a sword. Thrusting with a staff is not very effective except as a deterrent and expose the leading thumb to an extremely solid whack. Attacks against the opponent’s right side and head are made with the pointy end, attacks against the opponent’s left side are made with the blunt end. Attacks with the pointy end are made by moving the left hand forward and the right hand back. The height of the right hand relative to the target effects the angle of the attack i.e. if the right hand is at shoulder height and the attack is to the shoulder target, then the attack will tend to be horizontal. The path of the attacking hand also effects the angle. Attacks from the blunt end are similar, except for the attack on the opponent’s left shoulder. In order to get an acceptable angle of attack, rather than an upper-cut, it is necessary to lower the left hand to waist height and bring it close in to the body in order to get a diagonal blow to the shoulder.

Best Staff Weapons Warframe
The Tipedo has the highest crit chance of any staff/polearm, at 20%. It also has 20% status, making it viable for a hybrid status/crit build. Let me tell you, this works really well. You can use Blood Rush, Drifting Contact,

I started with the Mk1 Bo, and it served me well. I also leveled up the regular Bo, but used it to make the Tipedo immediately afterwards. The Amphis is a better version of the Bo early on because of its faster attack speed. The only thing the Bo has on the Amphis is its 20% status chance, but you probably won't have the necessary mods to make a proper status build early in the game when this comparison is relevant. Once you get the Tipedo or the Broken Scepter, the Bo and the Amphis are obsolete. I will say that I loved the old Bo model: it was nice and simple. The new one is a little too fancy, and it really defeats the whole purpose of a Bo staff, which is to prove that you can kick ass with nothing but a plain old stick. Get More Info

A new player will have the choice of 6 different weapons in the Vor's Prize tutorial, 2 from each weapon slot. Players can choose between the MK1-Braton and MK1-Paris as their primary, the Lato and MK1-Kunai as their secondary, and the Skana and MK1-Bo as their melee.
It's a worse version of the Orthos Prime, of course. The default skin looks great and you can't use it on the Orthos Prime, so that might be a reason to keep it around once you get the Prime. I sold mine.
The Lesion looks great, but the Orthos looks fantastic. I like the looks of the regular Orthos better than the Prime version, so I got the Forest-Camo and Tekelu skins from the market, which are just insanely lovely. It also, famously, has the longest reach of any polearm, and for that alone it's worth a potato and forma. This will clear the enemies in low-level missions faster than the Lesion, since both weapons will one-shot everything, but the Orthos Prime will one-shot more enemies in a single swing. The 15% status chance is enough for a functional status build using Healing Return and Condition Overload. Did I mention how great it looks?
For what it's worth, it's the best impact-based staff (except for the Bo Prime, which is vaulted), so use it if you like the "plonk-donk-ca-chonk" sound design of the impact staves over the Tipedo's slash sounds. You can also look at it as a much better version of the Amphis or Bo. EDIT: Unsurprisingly, I like it a lot more with Clashing Forest instead of Flailing Branch.

Zen Master Yunmen Wenyan and Shifu Miao Zhang were walking together in the hills behind the monastery one cloudy autumn afternoon. It began to rain steadily on the two old friends. He said, Yunmen, as for the source of their coming, the tip of my cane points to the fecund depths of vast emptiness, the crook end to the endless inter-marriages of ten thousand realities, and my hand grasps the heartwood of the ordinary mind. So, my friend, Yunmen, where are they all going?

Chinese Chan Buddhist Master Shoushan held up a bamboo staff before a group and said, "If you call it a bamboo staff, you are clinging. If you do not call it a bamboo staff, you are ignoring. So tell me, what do you call it?" - Wumenquan, # 43.
Nan-ch'uan asked Miao Zhang, "Is Ordinary Mind the Dao?" Miao Zhang said, "No. My mind is not ordinary, so the Dao is a dream within a dream. My cane is ordinary, so it walks with me along the Watercourse Way, pointing to the Abode of the Dao in the new forest."
"Staves are a traditional prop for the elderly and infirm, and this has led to their association with wisdom. The ability of a staff to perform wonders is also featured prominently in the scriptures of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Moses and Aaron, in their task to liberate the Hebrews from Egypt and deliver them to the Promised Land, employ staves. The staves are capable of performing miraculous feats to demonstrate the power and authority of God. Staves are also associated with wizards and other users of magic and sorcery. Haraibou (literal translation meaning 'purification stick') were staves that were used by the miko (Japanese female exorcists) to fight demons in Japanese lore." - Wikipedia - Staff (Stick)
